Helping Harrow Discover Its Parks
Red Mason has been working with Harrow Council, Harrow Parks Forum and 20 local volunteer groups to help raise awareness of the borough’s wonderful parks and green spaces.
The project brings together the people and organisations who know Harrow’s parks best, creating a clearer and more engaging way to share information with local residents and encourage more people to discover and enjoy the green spaces on their doorstep.
Harrow is home to a fantastic network of parks, each with its own character, history, wildlife and community value. With so much to discover, the project aims to make information about the parks easier to find, understand and engage with.
Working collaboratively with Harrow Council, Harrow Parks Forum and the 20 volunteer groups, Red Mason has developed a refreshed visual approach incorporating clear typography, distinctive graphics, icons and supporting information. Each park can have its own identity and story while remaining part of a consistent borough-wide approach.
The project brings together information about what makes each park special, from recreation and nature to heritage, events and community activities. It also provides a platform for the many dedicated volunteers and community groups who play such an important role in caring for and promoting Harrow’s green spaces.
The feedback from the groups involved has been amazing, with the new approach receiving a very positive response from the volunteers, community representatives and partners involved in the project. It has been particularly rewarding to see how strongly people have responded to having their local parks represented in a clear, distinctive and engaging way.
For Red Mason, this is exactly the kind of project where good design can make a real difference. Effective communication can help people connect with the places around them, discover something new and develop a greater sense of pride in their local environment.
We’re delighted to be working alongside Harrow Council, Harrow Parks Forum and the 20 local volunteer groups to help celebrate Harrow’s parks and make sure more local people know about the fantastic green spaces available to them.
