Designing for Community: Spelthorne Family Centres

We were delighted to work with Spelthorne Family Centres, an organisation at the heart of the community, providing support, advice, and a welcoming space for families with children aged 0–18. Our role was to design both their website and signage, ensuring their brand and message were clear, warm, and approachable.

A Website That Connects

The website was designed to be friendly, easy to navigate, and accessible to a wide range of users. With families in mind, we created a layout that feels welcoming, combining bright colours, engaging photography, and clear typography. The focus was on connection and clarity—making sure visitors could quickly find the information and support they needed, whether that’s parenting advice, outreach services, or local activities.

The imagery plays a central role, celebrating real moments of family life and reflecting the diversity of the community. This helps reinforce the centre’s message: “We are Family.”

Signage That Welcomes

Alongside the digital experience, we developed signage for the centres to extend the same warmth and clarity into the physical environment. The designs are bright, approachable, and consistent with the online brand—making the centres easy to recognise and inviting to step inside.

Supporting the Mission

Our goal throughout was to create designs that not only looked good but also supported the vital mission of Spelthorne Family Centres: helping families access advice, guidance, and community connection. By combining thoughtful digital and physical design, we’ve helped ensure that their brand reflects the care and support they provide every day.

Borde Hill Garden/ graphics, printing & website

The Garden was created in the early 1900s with plants gathered by the great plant collectors from their travels to the Himalayas, China, Burma, Tasmania and the Andes – a legacy which today’s visitors continue to experience and enjoy. Listed as Grade II* importance by English Heritage on its register of Parks and Gardens, Borde Hill contains the best private collection of champion trees in Britain and one of the most comprehensive collections of trees and shrubs in the world. In 1999 the Garden won the South East Tourism Board’s prestigious ‘Attraction of the Year’ award, and in 2004 it won the HHA/Christies Garden of the Year.
